Phil Cobb

Phil Cobb Phil Cobb is Principal Trumpet with the London Symphony Orchestra, a position he has held since 2009 when he was only 21 years old.

After a childhood where he regularly featured as a soloist throughout the UK and abroad alongside his brother and father, Phil studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.  Before leaving the Guildhall, Phil was already working with the London Philharmonic, London Chamber and BBC Symphony Orchestras, and by the time he finished his degree, he had secured his post as Principal Trumpet with the London Symphony Orchestra.

Phil also continues to maintain his solo career and a continued interest in brass bands, and has released two solo CDs.  He can also be heard on various film soundtracks, including Harry Potter, Twilight, Shrek, Rise of the Guardians and The Monuments Men; and he played in the opening and closing ceremonies of the London Olympic and Paralympic Games.

We are delighted to welcome Phil Cobb on our courses on 2016 as a Guest Artist.
