Heidi Bennett

Heidi is in demand as a freelance trumpeter all over Britain and performs regularly with orchestras such as Britten Sinfonia, Rambert Dance Company and the London Chamber Orchestra, with whom she performed at the Royal Wedding in 2011.

At the age of eight Heidi decided she wanted to learn to play the cornet after she had successfully managed to produce a sound on an old instrument her father had bought. After four years as a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, Heidi went on to study at the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal College of Music in London. During this time, as well as performing all over the world in orchestras and ensembles, Heidi was involved in many education projects where she developed a passion for teaching young people.

Heidi  teaches brass at Beechwood Park School where she is involved in an exciting and very large brass department. Alongside this Heidi continues to enjoy a wide variety of playing opportunities: she is a member of the award winning Lancier Brass Quintet and performs regularly with leading orchestras as well as contemporary musicians including Sir Elton John, Kanye West and Snow Patrol.
